For valentines day special “Date night Brooch”…

We are getting closer and closer for one of our very special day of the year “Valentines day”.I was thinking about some more ideas for this special occasion, My husband told me how about “Brooch……!”. Well he is a fantastic person with lots of new ideas and concepts.So why not, in this Tutorial I am going to make some thing special for couples going on a date or going on a blind date on Valentines day……….

So lets jump in and get started.

Things needed for making the roses are :

  • 40 mm(width) Red Polyester silk ribbon (you can pick your favourite colour),
  • 40 mm(width) white Polyester silk ribbon,
  • 40 mm(width) Olive green Polyester silk ribbon,
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks,
  • 10 mm Wire flower stems (16),
  • Scissors,
  • Lighter or Candle.

In this tutorial we are going to make use of the flowers, that I have already posted on “Be my valentine Red rose” tutorial. So all you have to do is click on the link and make one red rose and one white rose.

Once you’ve made the two rose we are good to continue making this impressive brooch.

Now lets see the things we need for making this brooch:

  • Black Safety pin,
  • 40 mm(width) Olive green Polyester silk ribbon,
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks,
  • 10 mm Wire flower stems (16),
  • needle and thread (preferable nylon thread),
  • Scissors,
  • Lighter or Candle.

Step 1: Measure and cut two oval shapes from the green ribbon. Preferably matching the length of the safety pin.

Step 2: Open the pin, apply glue on the pin (on the side where the head piece belong) and stick the pin on the middle of the ribbons.

Step 3:Now apply glue on the other oval green ribbon and stick on top of the pin like a sandwich ( Pin in middle of the ribbon)

Step 4:It should look like as shown below. At this pion the base of the brooch is ready.

Step 5: Now take the two roses cut the stem for about 6cm in length and place them together in an uneven heights.Try to twist both the stems together so that they both stay in place.

Step 6:Now take the Nylon thread and carefully stitch the roses to the safety pin brooch base.

Step 7:Take three leaves as shown on “Be my valentine Red rose” tutorial.

Step 8: Stick the leaves around the roses so that the brooch looks tidy.

Step 9:You will end up with a beautiful brooch as shown below.
